Chiaroscuro at TSA

Needing another life drawing fix, I went to TSA last night and tried to concentrate on using more of a chiaroscuro approach, fleshing out shadow shapes and deemphasizing line. I can see that practicing this strategy will be greatly beneficial to developing my skills (I am still a huge fan of the varied line-weight method, which I am also continuing to work on).

Final Pathology sketch

Here is the final draft I submitted for our pathology assignment, but I think I may have to do another iteration yet. But I'm quite happy with how my mosquitos came out!

Return to P&C in Chicago

Last night I returned to the Palette & Chisel art academy in Chicago after a long sojourn. Felt good to do some quick sketches in such a nostalgic setting. A perfect way to celebrate the Holiday season. (Sorry for the poor scans...)
